Thus, the crime rates are just not getting reduced without the criminals being afraid of the punishment that they will have to face after getting caught. On the part of the justice system, the implementation of capital punishment sends a message to the people that it is working well and giving fair judgments. This means that the people who committed serious crimes are those who are ordered to die through capital punishment, while those who are innocent and wrongfully accused are acquitted and set free. The courts are aware of the possibility that wrongful executions could happen if they make the wrong decisions, so they make sure that they carefully analyze the cases that they are handling and make the best decisions (Siegel 330). This is of course very favourable on the part of the families of the victims who did not deserve to die. Knowing that the criminals who killed their loved ones will also die through death penalty can somehow be their consolation that can help them accept the loss of their loved ones easier in the long run. They can finally move on from this dark chapter in their lives and be at peace knowing that justice has been served.
