Alzheimer’s disease is a serious brain disorder among older people which affects their ability to carry out daily activities.  Its impact is that it gives older people trouble in remembering things like forgetting the names of relatives and friends.

Scientists have been studying the possible causes of Alzheimer’s disease.  A recent study published the Journal of Molecular Psychiatry revealed that Alzheimer’s disease could be the result of an infection or it could be a disease that is transmitted from one person to another.

The researchers reached this conclusion after they studied mice injected with human brain tissue from patients with Alzheimer’s disease developed Alzheimer’s disease.  The result was that the mice developed damage on their brain similar to that of Alzheimer’s disease.  The researchers also found that the damage spread throughout the brain.
